Untitled (Breakthrough)

Story behind the piece

An arm coming up through torn paper, fist closed around a halo, a face pushing through behind it.

The tear is a ragged hole in the violet, lit yellow along the edge. The arm gets through first and grabs the halo outright. In the other drawings the halo is worn or left hovering, so this is the one place it actually gets handled. The face arriving behind the arm is worked up enough to look like somebody in particular.

Each original is signed on the reverse and shipped with a certificate of authenticity, a handwritten note from the artist, and careful studio packaging.
